Script annotation
Now that it has come to the end of blocking all the acts part from a few scene; it was time to really go through my script and annotate it, so that I remember blocking and meanings so then I'm not just saying lines after line.
So the script annotation has been done so that i know all stage direction; i've also put emotions as hits so i know the mood such as anger for example, then target and objective so I know what i want in each scene.
Here is some pictures of my annotated script ...
page 21 to 22 ACT 2 Scene 4
Then my second ACT 2 scene 5 , page 23 to 24
I've ask added adjectives such as flirt to help with scene run smooth and allow my peer chemistry to bouncy off, at the start of my first scene I'm in I've added a little note to remind how I've kinda of based my character on.
So That the blocking is more clear to my mind set i've also added in some drawn pictures so help jog my memory.
Milestone meeting
Meeting the milestone have been a challenge to, if I'm to be due to medical reason however I always have said to my self no matter what is wrong try you're best to be the best, so I saw this as more off a challenge and made me want to achieve more.
The main one that I have found challenge is learning lines, as my peers in the scene with me haven't been in as much as i would have hoped for therefore i haven't had as much rehearsal time, i would have like to help with my lines. Therefore I've had to go away and come to ideas that will help me with meeting the milestone deadline, such as singing my lines and repeating this 5 to 10 times a night, this is only on example with what i used.
Milestone that I have found easy to complete is blogs and the objective excise; as i read my script and tools notes that are key for my character, because of my objective i was able to play on that to build my character boldness and play with the flirty and purtue side of my character.
Film research -
over the last few weeks I have been looking into research and theme and style of acting that i would be able to relate it to; in class we watched stage beauty , that high lighted some theme such as love, passion, ..... - those can relate back to The Double Dealer as it about love and passion for one of each other for example.
Aslo while watching this due to the film be based on the 17th century , I notice that it only had one objective(story line) through out the film, this was women on stage. Just William Congevre would do as many play writes of the time would also do this compeer to play mower day.
The film also gave me as female playing in restoration; how lucky the actors would originally be due to the fact not many theatre like the idea and how much times changed in society; as female were used to help with wardrobe and stage hands before the law came in to place, also it showed how little recepect mean had as they would slap their bums and push the women out the way. I though this is key to know when betraying this time in history as I would like to some how bring this into my character .
The change in society want just for women it was also for men, as they have been changed role to role very quick and someone as class we discussed was how men would have found it hard to know if they were a women trapped in a mans body or man trapped as women mind; as from a young age they have been pushed out of the male in them an push towards more the female, how they would act and feel. so when mean had to play a role of man, many actors couldn't carry on and had to stop acting. where others made the male role sound like a female and this is where comx-hons come into play.
The second film i watched in my sear time was Belle as it help me understand, the role of a lady around the time frame; it also help understand in that Cynthia would be going through and how I the older Lady would tell her to go for the money otherwise she would lose everything. Therefore i had learnt small tracts from the film.
also i though the film really showed a real insight with the articulation, and the past and tempo on lines and how women of the period would add colour in the voice on words.
so over the last week i was thinking in costume for lady Plyant and if it would be correct colour scheme and style however when watching the film, i notice all the women were wearing something like i have chosen to wear, here is the costume that i have chosen to wear and the reason being that it is bold and very out there from the others apart from Lady touchwood however i believe this is something we are also competing for, so i think they whole colours of it all tend to go really well.

(This is not the costume fitted as few adjustment will need to be made)
As a lady of restoration this is something in that would be warn around the time.
The film also help me understand the attitude of the walk and more with the mind set- and this is were in week 3 we developed our walking and i out into play the eyes to my character and this showed that glance and though about everything no matter what and this is something that Lady Plyant would do as she isn't always saying that is on here mind.
Fantastic work on the annotated script and well done for the honesty of your blog. This is a true representation of your rehearsal journey and I respect this.
