This was the first week we finally saw how act one was to look as a whole; during this week we didn’t only see this we finished scenes and improved our characters within the chorus so that we could have more of an understanding in how we would betray are own character so that they are all different, while being different they also need to be seen as one; so that the audience would get an understanding of the chorus, how we want to betray them as journalist. Over this week I have learnt that it is important that we want the audience to get the fact we are journalist as in the modern day society they tend to be everywhere to get information that will help have story to publish.
How we managed to move along the line to make our chorus members
independent and different from everyone was doing a small workshop during the rehearsal
process as we broke off around the room a was told two different pose; that represented
a listening pose (so that it made it
look as if we were listening to Abbi telling us the information) , then we had
to do a second pose that we could move into so for my one I lead forward and
open my mouth to give a little facial expression so that it add more character
and we were not all acting unitive.
The first scene we looked at was Abbi when the chorus is
undercover and are pretending to be the ‘women that moan’ and ‘friend’ we found
that we already had was good but that we need to stay force; it was hard for everyone
to do this as after a while some people began to get bored of repeating the
same scene over and over again, also it was hard as we had to look into Abbi
and have a fake smile when she called us over with ‘friends’ this was to betray
the fact that we aren’t really friends of hers , we were just there to get a
story to twist.
I found that Wednesday and Thursday it was a lot hard for everyone
to keep their mind within the room but on Wednesday we done some active ideas
as we took some ideas form ‘The Box’ performance to create a chair routine so
that it was put together a lot faster we decide that it would be better if we
broke off into small group; I was with Connor
we started off we a different routine where we had different dynamics with the
bodies but we found that it wouldn’t work, so we relooked over the 8
lines in which we had this lead to less
movement but was more affected as on the word ‘tangled’ Connor tangled my arm
around me, we they had to work how we speak our lines we both agreed on high
syacits voice; as we found it kept the audience interested when relaying back
to other class mates .
