Evaluation for devises

So over the last 4 weeks we have worked on a devise piece the type of style our devise piece we were aiming for was contemporary. So the devises show which we performed was called 'Then Real Christina' the name was group decision. The 4 weeks have not been easy is has been stressful and hard as for the first 2 weeks it was very hard to get the group to work together and instead of taking steps forward each day we was taking a step back. This was because the group was not forced enough during this time period, staying force was one of the group weakness. I found during long period the whole group had the moments so to keep us on track we had small brakes and worked in smaller groups to creat a sense then come together at the end. This helped us move forward.

So after we finally got we're we wanted to be the pace of the performance moved fast even though we had different dynamics during the piece this was enough weakness for us as we started to worry that we would not hit the time limit to even pass. We solved this by slowing down some of the different monologue and add more dialogue in. The three sense we decide to have dialogue in turntable out to be one of our strongest parts in the performance I found that I had an issue with what I was saying within my vocal delivery as my pronunciation on the word 'something' as I was saying as 'somethink'   So I kept putting a k on the end. I solved this by doing diction and articulation excises in my spare time at home some of these was just putting my fingers in between my mouth and saying different words and puns and even tongue twisters this helped me get the 'g'  at the end if the word.

The group also lacked in characteristic at the being of the full run through at the being of weeks 4 as we never really added in this was a weakness again during our rehearsal period so after looking at each scene we looked were we could add it in instead of playing it with no emotions in it. So we had different characters such as bully's in the circle sense and fear, proud, mad, worried, calm, sad and happy was played by different people in the 'train sense' we found this worked really well.

One of my personal weakness was in the comer sense I put together and was my idea this was struggle with me due to the fact I was playing Christian at this point and had to work with staying steal on one point to show that the other people on stage couldn't see me but the audience still could. Also I had issues with exits during one of the scene as I couldn't fine the counter to get off the box lucky dan was behind me and helped with this and we both made it back on in time for the flowing scene.

So overall it seems  that the group struggled a lot but the truth is that after all are weakness we came out on top as we managed to get our aim through to the audience are aim was to ' The audience to come out with them question their-self and who they really are, are we told to be who we are? Have other people made us what we are ? We also wanted the audience to feel;...

   I know this due to the feed back we received from the audience as some even said "Left me wondering if we are free" so over all I am pleased with the outcome of the group as I feel that we archived energy out through the performance and dynamics in the show such as the mirror scene and the real Christian as this was the sense we had group movement with our heads, legs and the breathing.  We also had physical theatre during our show and example of this was the hospital dance/fight which I created.

- so after we discussed our different ideas about the picture we then worked on ideas in movement such as the dinner table scene which was my idea in this scene we use drama companies style of work such as  Frantic Assembly when i say style I mean taking out to the audience while there is still conversation within the characters, we also tried this scene "cut across" where the characters are all on stage but there to different environments and atmosphere happening on stage because it was more of a flash back style we tried to play it in. after trying this we found it didn't really work with what we wanted the audience to get from the show this came across as an issue as we lost a starting point.

However this didn't stop the group from trying other ideas to work around with such as objects - this is where someone try to escape but have to go under and trow the people blocking there way, this worked will with what we wanted show witch Christian being trapped even though this worked we put it to one side.

Week 4 (14th-20th)

This was the show week meant we only had two days to perfect everything and develop anything we could to improve the performance and we sure did work hard within this week.

So on the finally week and show week we tried different dynamics in sorted sence to see if they would work better slow or fast one of the main sence was the physical fight sence witch I choreography and we found out that as it was put in last minute Monday it worked better slow and had more of an effect when performed. 

We also had to work out what lights we would use and what colour we wanted for each sence, so for an intents sence we went for colors such as ....

.Red
We found by having colours like this ut created more of an atmosphere on stage.

Week 3 (Oct 7th-13th)

This become are panic week we had one week and only 5 minutes to perform at this point , the group went through didn't emotions of stress but managed to stay together and get through we developed scene such as the "I'm the real christian", also tried different ideas and hit some problems such as we dropped Dan along the way.

Week 2 (30th-6th)

Aim - The audience to come out with them question their-self and who they really are, are we told to be who we are ? have other people made us what we are ? these are the type of questions i want the audience to walk away and ask them self.

Theme during the show ...

isolation-shown in a scene where Christian will be trapped and cant get out this will be shown by someone going trying to get through everyone while they all make different shapes out od there bodies to stop them.

Week 1 (sept 23rd-29th)

Week 1 (stimulus & group)

This is the first week that the class have seen the stimulus witch will help us to produce a show. I had my own responded to the stimulus it made me think of coldness, darkness theses words came from that her hair is getting blown by the wind there for a could Autumn day also that the colour of the clouds helped get this images across to me.

Also beyond a point as if she was so go over it something bad would happen so she would watch from the decent the two different shades in the grass really helped give the imprecation off.

also made me think of words such as alone , despite and fear.


when we was put into the groups we put all our ideas down on to paper to help us to develop ideas the group came up with words such as ...

this words help us come up with ideas such as a character going crazy witch was my idea but we need a reason why therefore Connors came up with an idea of a fair then i said maybe her family could of dead in the family therefore she becomes an orphan. so then we took this idea to our feet, by to start acting it we played that she was going mental by her hearing voice in her mind witch we play with by having me, Dan and Brad behind the stage saying how the flames where spreading up her body.we then had Imo sat on the chair then Connor and Alicia acting as the fire by pulling her back and touching her fire and Yaz was directing this to see if it worked or not witch really helped.

As a second idea i came with the idea of her looking back when her family was happy and she would be telling the story and using Frantic Assembly style the character talking to the audience to tell them how she wish it could all go back to normal. This we all though that yet again could be played as she was going mental.

so from a painted that was called Christian's world by Andrew Wyeth what was painted in 1948 the group and i have come along way of the line of the original story and have started going down the idea of mental if it will stay that why we have to wait and see but at the moment it  seems to be working well part from some things that we can a play around with as in idea one maybe have the voice actually in the background acting in pain and help pull her back and maybe with the second idea and rules in it such as when sorted words are mention or a movement is made there has to be a reaction.
