T.V and FILM Blog 26th January till 6th February

T.V AND FILM BLOG 26TH JAN - 6TH FEB

over the last few weeks we have looked at ways to get ready to be filmed , with the body and the character back ground so that you can bring the to the set with research decision already made, so that you have some type of character there to work with.

when getting the body ready to be filmed it is important to do some type of warm up; one that i have used for a scene is the one used by Mel chrchill (name maybe misspelt) the warm is followed;...
*breath in and out with 3 beats , when released should be released with sounds of the voice.
*shake it all out so you feel relaxed
*To open the throat - breath in and out with head lowered down and counting 1,2,3 ect
*body roll and keep on counting on the way up to allow the precentor to open.
* stand straight and find balance - so ready for any movement
*take deep breaths and think - allows you get ready for any movement that will take place and character mind set

I used this warm up when doing the MI5 scene, this help me relax into the scene but i still fund hard due to the american accent and didn't know anything about the character; therefore i used the questions form the Character analysis sheets that was given to us, i found this helped me to bring my light and life to my eyes when doing the scene as i was thinking. I found the accent was a big problem for me, when first given the scene to work with my accent was southern american and didn't fit with scene at all, therefore i had to tone it done along with keeping the emotion in the scene, therefore i spent 15 minutes working by myself after this i managed to found the accent but tensing my bottom jaw and lip that gave me the small movement of the bottom lip and i had to work more with my top which american people tend to do.

After using the warm up and small techniques that work for during the scene, i found when watching it back i said a word a differ tone and accent, this would be good to use in an audition as the casting director will remember the small part and re watch therefore it could lead back to a call back.

over these weeks we also look at another scene where we received bad news over the phone and we had to received this and show it on or face this is a scene that i struggled with when showing the emotion to put my self i  the mind set of losing a family one is where i never been before i think this is why i struggled, when on camera. where during the rehearsal imagining it was my dad or mum and jack that had passed away which did bring me tears and made my stomach feel horrible and i wanted to be sick however with the camera on me and the light and everyone watching i found it hard with all it there.

after this scene i learnt that it docent matter how you come across in look wise on camera as it will e what directors want to get the take they need for the scene and it is is best to make a fool and put you're self out there as thats whist casting directors and directors want, they do not want a vain actor to work with.
