Blog on Julius Caesar

Shakespear wrote Julius Ceasar (JC) in 1599 to show that he was for one leader; JC is one of the first tragedy that he wrote; it tells a story of very powerful general, who increased the size and wealth of Rome, as JC wanted to rule Rome by himself this lead to his assassination by the conspiracy; in his death he had no children to take over from his roll even though he left his grand nephew Octavius as his heir there was still no successor, this left the people of roman to react due to JC murder this coursed civil war to bake out across Rome. This is related to Elizabeth in 1599 as she bought England to its height of wealth, however due to the fact she hadn't named an heir that would take place after her death as she had no children and her reign was clearly coming to an end; England begin to paince of when she passed just in case it was followed by a chaotic civil war- the same type that bought a massive mayhem to Rome more than sixteen hundred years ago; as England was in a good place at this point of time.

The Globe theater was first built in 1599 by  a source of people. Julius Ceasar is to belived to be the first played actually performed in the Globe, this was also seemed to be the first type of politics bought to the stage therefore it had an impact to the aduince that went to watch it. Shakespeare was a writer that takes certain liberties with his historical source as order to reduce the events in several years; as Mark Anothy was a noble man to the public that  to people of Rome to fight back. Historically, Ceasar's triumphal ceremony over Pompey occurs Ceasar's funeral before Brutus gathered his armies to fight Antony and Octavius on the plains of Philippi. Where in Shakespeare play  Ceasar's marches into Rome in triumph on the Lupercalia, that takes place in February as his assassinated in middle of  march. Also Brutus and Cassius are driven out of Rome after the moving speech that Antony delivers to people therefore this increase the dramatic intensity of the action. As Shakespear suggest that the decision the characters', that therefore course JC to ignore the warning given this has a massive consequences.

Julius Ceasar was a roman general dictar of roman in the 1st century and political leader whose role in the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Rome Empire changed the course of Western Civilization. He was also responsible for the first time invasion of Beitannia, Ceasar was also considered to be one of the foremost military geniuses when it came to it; he was also a very powerful politic speaker infront of the people; after he begin to gene control of the government he then began to reform the Roman society; he done stuff such as introduced measures that protected marriage and insition of the family, reduced the national debt.

after JC death on march 15th it restored to the republic back into Rome and coursed a spark in to the civil war; i believe that Shakespeare is really talking about the different politics in London but is saying hold on in my play i state Rome, as the place to be.

im not to sure if this correct but i have done so much research and this is what it results to, if i could talk about i could probably talk and make more scene.... sorry

YEAR 2 BLOG week 23rd-26th October + trip to globe and the affcts

week Monday 23rd-26th October

This week the productive days were Wednesday and Friday; Wednesday we took a trip to the globe theater once we finally reached there as it felt like forever on the mini bus, it was the first time i have ever been to the globe theater myself; it was a lot smaller then what I thought it would be, during the tour I found out some new facts such as the globe was constructed just out side Reading before bought to London as all the blots were handmade to fit in all different parts, ones up they flat packed it down and put it back together in London; also that the best seats in the whole during Shakespeare time was to sit on the bouncy as it wasn't about seeing the play it was all about people seeing you at the theater. as today the theater hold round about 1005 people at each performance; when the Globe was first built it would of held 3000 people, I found this fact interesting as how much scoity has change as now people want there space at the theater to move which they would of not have. also at the how it use to cost 1p to stand, 2p to seat and 5p to be in the bouncy; they try a put the price lowest they can have and still make profit.

During the workshop we took parts of Julius Caesar at random; the sheets that we was given just had the que line and then our respond to that; to me this felt better as it made me had to listen as I only knew the line before I had to say mine, therefore i always had to be reacting to what was being said, on the script there was no directions as Shakespear would put them in the script so when Mark Anthony says "stand back" Shakespear is really telling the actor to press against him. i found this as an actor it really help me learn as the director wont always be there to tell you what to do so it tough me that when reading a script you have to read between the lines in what the writer want/see his vision as. during the second part of the of the workshop we done small actives, one that stood out for me was when we ha to point at the person we was talking about for example when the script said you; you would point at the opposite person; this made me notice the power of the senescent that was being said, we also done an active of fit the paper during the lines that you was saying this once again bought power to the scene and made me notice during the scene the two characters were having a disagreement; doing these actives tough be the ins and outs on the scene and even though I couldn't quite understand it but by putting small actions in it made me understand in what was happening.

The performance it self was good seeming im not fan of Shakespear and I guess you can say thats wired for someone that studying drama; how it was director was very good for the space and due to the open top you could really tell of the actor voice being worked so that they could be heard; at the start of the performance and the first act I was stood in the center at the front which was good as it tends to bring you in to the atmosphere of the performance, with the yelling at the start it didn't just make me fell that I was watching it, it brought me into the performance and me feel a part and that is what Shakespear is all about. where during the second half I stood at the side, which I didn't really like as you lost that contact with the atmosphere as the actors weren't really looking that way and when they did it was very short and it made me feel that I was watching from the window; even though the performance it self was good there is one thing that i would disagree with and that was what happened to the actors after there death; Julius was carried off which is understandable but during the second act the actors that died then got up and walked off; I feel that during a performance you should go with them being dead and carried off for all death in the play instead of going for the two different ways as it made me lose the vision.

Friday punk rock started; as a class we were introduced into the different objectives these are different objects witch you're character wants to achieve in the play so give you a sample of a want objective in scene one of my character( Tanya) would be that i want to found the new girl Lilly. I suppose this could all count as my scene objective , each of these could change during the play to help me reach my long term objective( what i want during the whole play) that could be to get on with six forma and a levels and try my best for example the you have super objective( is what i want to achieve as the one) so Tayan could be how she wants to walk round Mr Anderson house barefoot pregnant with his babies. so objective is something that you work on and could change during rehearse to make you're character act during the scene so you are not just waiting for the line; when putting scene one together i used to objectives for me one to found Lilly and to be constitution in what was being said round the room but not to take notice just incase anyone mentioned my crush what is at the end of the scene. so when it comes to my next scene I can relax when talking about my vision with the teacher as my secret  is out in the open.

I also got a quick understanding on actioning sand this is what you want the other person to feel after you're line or when you walk in the room; so this made me think of how to say my line and what actions my character might to when on stage.( this i still have to do research in but this is what I've understood of it so far)
